At the heart of our work is the will to make heritage accessible to everyone. We thrive on igniting an interest and enjoyment for the past and love working with others whose job it is to inspire.
We can co-ordinate and manage heritage engagement projects bringing excellent communication, imagination and creativity. We generate outcomes for people and deliver a quality result in a timely manner and on budget. We confidently liaise with various clients and stakeholders.
A recent project includes the Heritage Lottery Funded project “The City Beautiful” for Birmingham Civic Society’s centenary. We developed a programme of public engagement opportunites for a wide range of audiences, created interpretive materials, short films, commissioned a new poem working alonside varied partners, organisations and volunteers. We happily acted as ambassadors for the Society at Civic Voice National Conference, on radio and on Social Media.
We deliver training for staff and volunteers at museums and heritage sites. We design bespoke packages to meet the needs of staff and volunteers. Training has included How to Deliver Great Guided Tours, Welcoming Families, Your Site in its Historic Context, How to Deliver to Schools, Great Presentations. Clients include Birmingham Museums Trust, Legacy West Midlands and The Pen Museum.

We carry out community consultation projects working with a client to assess need we develop a range of consultative strategies both desk based and face to face. We consult with diverse audiences and create useful and meaningful summary reports. Clients include Severn Valley Railway and All Saints Church, Grendon.

We can create original ideas and work to a specified brief to engage the public in heritage with a focus on learning and enjoyment. From picnics to lectures and everything in between Mrs History works across a range of platforms to produce engaging events and activities for wide audiences.

We can develop a range of learning resources to be used in schools or as part of engaging people at museums of heritage sites. Original and replica items are sourced to illustrate particular historic topics and are presented in attractive and accessible boxes. Mrs History develops a range of supplementary written materials that explain the items and their historic context. A set of curriculum focussed activities is also part of the package.
